Ron Paul appeared on CNN this morning continuing his media rounds blasting the government providing welfare for holders of bad debt. Welcome to socialism U.S.A. Watch the interview below. Paul equates the bailouts to a “fix for a drug addict”.
Ron Paul is at it again. He appeared on Glenn Beck’s TV show last night and discussed the financial crisis in the U.S. He was a bit more philosophical in this appearance. He even mentioned Austrian economics by name again. Keep on spreading the word Dr. Paul. When it comes to the economy we are all behind you. Interview is in two parts.
Ron Paul schooled America via MSNBC this afternoon. With such a short soundbite style interview it is hard for him to be effective about his “teachings”, but in this interview I think he does an excellent job. He discussed why inflating the money supply is a no-win in the long run. He then goes on to say rather emphatically that he could never endorse John McCain for a variety of reasons but his most biting reason was foreign policy. Paul says he could never endorse someone that thinks it’s funny to sing “bomb bomb bomb Iran” as McCain did a few years ago.
On a new video published on Ron Paul’s Congressional web site he rants on the lunacy of voting for more and more foreign aid and bailouts while America is bankrupt. In it he continues his argument that if you care about humanitarian issues the most important thing that needs to be done is to protect the currency. That is the polar opposite of what is happening all around us today.
Bill O’Reilly managed to somewhat improve the quality of his programming last night.Instead of focusing his efforts on vilifying Chevy Chase for not “believing in” the Great Sarah Palin, he instead decided to address the hypocrisy of the leaders in Washington, who always show up at the Bottom of the 9th Inning during a legitimate crisis, as opposed to proactively informing the public when red flags start to appear.
While I do agree with his statements that our leaders should bite the bullet and make the tough call of delivering bad news (as opposed to McCain, blowing smoke our way the other day, claiming that our current economy has a strong foundation) and also that “both parties are to blame” for this current economic and bailout crisis, I do, however, find it quite humorous that he asserts “there was no Paul Revere in public office to alert us”.Bill, perhaps there was no Paul Revere, but there was and is a Ron Paul in office to alert us.He has been warning the country for almost 2 decades of an impending crisis, such as the one we are currently facing.
The headlines of today are the former “alarmist” predictions of “that kook, fringe candidate, Ron Paul”.It’s unfortunate that O’Reilly, most of the Fox News Network, and the Mainstream Media, in general, have spent many years ignoring the warnings of an honest and economically literate public official.O’Reilly cries out for a leader with the spine to be a leader, yet, at the same time, O’Reilly does his best to ignore a Ron Paul and sweep him under the rug.Fortunately, shrewd journalists such as Glenn Beck and Neil Cavuto regularly march the Ron Pauls and the Peter Schiffs of the world onto their shows in an attempt to inform the public of the very financial corruption thriving in D.C., as well as the dangers of government intervention.
Peter Schiff, who endorsed Ron Paul for President, appeared on Glenn Beck’s television show yesterday discussing the recent government bailouts and what the future holds. Hint: It’s pretty bleak.
Bob Barr appeared on CNN this evening with Lou Dobbs. Dobbs asked Barr about some of Dobbs’ own favorite topics including illegal immigration. Barr didn’t disappoint and continues to get major media interviews. What was especially pleasing is that Dobbs didn’t ask about the “spoiler” role. Enjoy it below.
Here is Ron’s short but effective appearance on Glenn Beck yesterday. As always good stuff from him. I’d also like to thank Beck for continuing to cover Ron Paul and have him on his show. Even though Beck now says he’s voting for McCain/Palin he has been quite fair to Ron Paul, at least on economic issues.
Ron Paul and Ralph Nader had a sit down today with Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s The Situation Room regarding Paul’s big announcement today. As Wolf Blitzer says some may say they “are the ultimate odd couple.” I agree. When one half of Nader’s policies are in direct conflict with the other half I’m not sure he is any better than John McCain or Barack Obama. Ron Paul focuses on the areas of agreement and pushes forward even at the risk of his own party shunning him even more than they already have. Perhaps he feels he has nothing to lose at this point. Watch them discuss it below.
Although Ron flounders a little at the end there, he pretty much sums it up in a way that I think a lot of us have never fully considered: 16% of the country votes for one candidate, and the rest of us, the true majority, are all left feeling like “the minority”. Footage below, including what we can and need to do about it:
